hello

many things happened lately.
mixed-feeling.
everything.

but all in all, they were all really a good experience

i'm quite busy lately. with the final presentation approaching in 2 weeks time, i'm definitely not gonna waste my every single free time. at this moment, "sacrifice" is my new best friend. I will make sure that my final presentation gonna be the bomb!

I learnt from my mistakes. Yes I do!
No more the same mistake this time.
And as for that, I should start doing the planning for all of these so that the end result gonna be just like what I have expected.

"Determination". Another word that I should consider at the moment. I know that this time around, I'm gonna be able to soar high. I had done once during summer, and this time, I could see that the chance is there, and I just need to put more effort, so that I could eliminate the rest of the 'contestants''. Some of them are doing well too but I need to do better than them. I should grab the title 'the best' and in order that to happen, 'sacrifice' and 'determination' with proper 'planning' should go along together.

Belief in yourself, you are born to be the winner! Just like what you always do in squash, do the same in architecture!

I have progress discussion tomorrow (today) with my tutor about my design project. Hopefully, after 7days of non stop working on the design, day and night, staying up late, staying late at uni, etc etc etc. everything's gonna turn out fine,,,,,,, after that disastrous 1st presentation.

I'm actually still wanna work on it but, I believe my brain has reached its limit. I just cant think anymore. Definitely need some rest.

newGeneration

I got a good news and a bad news. But I would rather share to bad news since the good one is still unsure yet.

Anyway, the bad news is, I'm stucked with my design as I still do not have the proper way to arrange and to relate back my design with my concept. I know I could just do random thing and then try to fit everything with the original concept but the problem is, I am not even approaching towards that at all. I think there is some problem with the relationship between each of the buildings. I need to configure about what is the best relationship between them all so that the overall design would look smooth and strengthen the original concept. By the way, my concept is ...... I'm thinking to bring back the history into life where I am using the architecture during the Indus Civilization and try to modify it with the contemporary elements as my approach in designing the Embassy of Pakistan.

I need to work work and work + critique on my own design before come out with the final one. I can do it..... y'all!

p/s: the good news? ahaaa! will do the updates after everything is confirm! ;)

Le Corbusier

I just had a lecture about this amazing architect. I was about his design at his early years, where his design is being seen as something which is very remarkable and inspirational. I believe he is definitely a great person/ architect.

From what I have seen during the lecture, his design are all based on the box, square and rectangles. The white box architectures which were look like machine made but actually, they were hand-made - his inspiration in build up his design.

From far, the design just look so simple. Just a box as a place for living creatures inside. However, what makes it interesting and attracting people interest is the way he played with the plan and arrangement of what he is gonna put inside. Every space is carefully thought and place at the right angle. Just ask why, and he is definitely have the answer to every question.

As for myself, I love white-box architecture. It is simple and very elegant. The circulation is very easy to understand and on top of that, we can easily relate the architecture with the nature. The arrangement of ideas inside and outside gonna look very precise and in order. It does not only make you want to get inside and explore the building, it is also could inspire the people who come to have a look at the architecture. Make it simple because simplicity always give the best quality. and.........................On top of that, it simplifies my work in term of model making and the drawings. hehe

little did we know...

a person that once has turned me down from me achieving my dream had asked me a question,

" what is the different between the builder and the architect?"

he is then added that particular question should be asked from time to time and we will realize that the answer gonna be different from time to time.

" the builder just build up the building but the architect is the one who shows the continuity of the building with the site, the climate, the view, the surrounding and definitely the one that makes the building not just beautiful in the eyes but carrying its own meaning through its shape, form, aesthetic values for it to be chosen as part of the architecture"

that makes me love architecture even more!

Linen

This is totally a new experience, knowledge and field to me. Textiles in interior architecture, my elective for this sem.

The moment I entered the class, there were only two guys with more than 10 girls (not sure the actual figure) sitting down on the chair while waiting for the lecturer. I was a lil bit shocked but who cares, that's the only subject that suits my timetable at the moment.

I was expecting to learn something about fashion designing when I enrolled into this subject. haha. How silly I am. The word 'textiles' to me is just for the fashion. That's all I know. But when the explanation given by the lecturer, then I started to realized that there are a lot more other stuffs can be explored just by the word 'textiles'. Textiles in Interior Architecture, the subject which gonna give me an intro about how we can use textiles with the interior part of our house. Furniture, bed, wall paper? That are some of other usage of textiles besides fashion.

linen- one of the fabric shown during the class and I really think that this fabric is awesome. I like it the best among all. Simple, classic and not formal. Quoting from my lecturer, 'linen is the most durable fabric of all". Then it suddenly came into my mind, 'buat baju kawen pon smart jugak!' *lariiiiiii

haha. ok people. need to do more research about this subject since everything here is new to me. warp? weft? woven? knitted? arghhhhhh.

Take 5

I'm now at uni. It's studio time, the scariest and hardest subject for every architecture student. We don't have any particular reference in doing the design. No text book and no past year questions to go through. It is all about something present, new and fresh, straight from our so called 'creative-brain'.

Anyway, why am I here, writing this post? This is what I call 'take 5'. hehe. But usually, it will surely exceed the figure. Surfing the net is always far more interesting than doing uni works. U could get anything that U want by just pressing the keyboard, typing down anything that come across your mind.

Unlike design, if nothing to trigger your creative cells, U would just wondering around with no outcome for your project. The environment of where U stay is very important because good surrrounding always give less time for the idea to strike your brain.

One tip in excelling in your design is to be good with your tutor. They are the one who is gonna marking your project and by being good to them, the probability for them to give you low marks could be decreased. I'm not saying they would surely give you high marks, but since they are human, they are also have feeling. N I'm very sure, we ourselves do not want to cause trouble for those who are doing good to us, rite? Same goes to them.

Besides that, if we are good to them, they would share everything that they know with us. They would help us in generating the idea, improving it and also giving the final touch before the final presentation day. The idea is still from us, they just helping us by stimulating our thoughts to something which is beyond our knowledge. They are very well-known in this field and learning through their experiences are something that we could not get even from any text book.

Enough for this time I guess. chiow!~

Model in the MAKING...

OO0oo people!!!

I have 5 sketch-models due by tomorrow and u know what,
I've only finished one and now, still doing my second model.

but that's not the main thing...

I called Faaris n told him that I was so miserable with my design.

" Aku rase, course nih kene ade 2 org yg amek.
So nnti bole aa yg sorang dok bg idea, sorang lg buat model"

" Alaaa.. relax aaa.. ko bole buat punyer..."

"Ok~~~~ *in a boring way*
Aku rase mcm malas dh nk buat. Nak balik M'sia lg best!"

tetibe nada Faaris berubah... terkejut jugak!
" Ko nih jangan pikir yg bukan2 bole tak?!!
Tak yah pikir ko nak balik,
tak yah pikir ko dok sorang2,
JANGAN BYK PIKIR BOLE TAK?!
KO NIH BYK SGT PIKIR TAU TAK!"

Aiyo. But seriously, that was real GOOD!
It opened up my eyes to see the clear picture of me!

THANKS A MILLION Faaris!!!
pelangi kemilau untuk anda *matila copypaste!*

PopUp

A friend of mine introduced to me a blog by an architecture student in UIA. Being me and knowing that the blog is own by a person who might gonna be my colleague in the future, I browsed through nearly all of his posts. Yes, he is a man full of ideas i would say. I was impressed by most of his videos and this is one of his precious masterpiece.

Owh btw, here is the link to his blog. (click here)

menarikkan? absolutely!
