Lelaki ini...

From far, I could see an Indian customer waving at me from her table. She were having dinner with her family and when I reached there, they were asking about the dish that one of them were asking before. They said that she need to go early which means that she need to have her meal first.

I told them that the meal is being cooked at the kitchen and will be ready within 5 more minutes. They said okay.

But then, one of the Indian lady there suddenly looked very excited and straight away calling me.

"Excuse me, you do look like ANUAR ZAIN! Are you his relatives?"
and at the same time, she keep telling all the people on the table that I looked like ANUAR ZAIN.

then his husband ( i guess since he was sitting beside her ) repeating the same question to me and all of them looked very interested to know the answer from me.

with a smile I said, " No no, I am not his relatives "

" But you do look like HIM" they replied.

" Owh thanks " I smiled.

My point here is, I dont know whether I look like ANUAR ZAIN or not, but the truth is, this is not the first time people told me that I look like him. hehe

"You have a nice balance: you're not afraid to try new things,
but you don't rush into things without thinking them through"

That was the result I got for my 'risky business quiz'. It is a quiz that we have to do for one of my subject; Managing Stress and Anxiety. Pretty cool rite? Yes, I love this subject very much. It is something that I can easily relate to my life. Something that we do every day. Or it can be something that we can see others do too. In easy words, it is all about our life!

Anyway, why suddenly I choose to start my post with that statement? Hehe.

I usually plan what am I gonna do for the day but not today. I finished class at 6pm, rushed to musolla for Maghrib and went to Malaysian Night Market at UNSW Round House. But not like what I've expected, this year's night market was sooo boring. Nothing much could be found there. The best was still Abg Sam's Satay. The rest were banana fritters, cupcakes, corn in a cup etc. which were totally not as 'colorful' as Indonesian Night Market last Tuesday. Variety of food could be found and yup, I got my 'SATAY PADANG' there too. It was like a compulsory thing for me when attending the Indonesian Night Market.

Since I didnt get anything for myself there, I was thinking of going back and have my dinner at my place until I stopped by a group of Malaysian (my uni collegues) and invited me to come with them to MaxBrenner (It is a chocolate restaurant; all food there are made of chocolate). I refused to go at first since I was too tired due to class from 9am-6pm but they forced me to be part of the excitement! haha.

Yea. There went my night. MAX BRENNAR!!

Ok now comes to the main point of this post. We went to REBEL after that and yes people, I got my new squash shoes there! Happy. Have a look at my new squash partners. Cant wait to use it!!!

We went to karaoke and finished at 10.15pm. Karaoke was da bomb! hahaha

What a night!!! Went out with totally random people and we finished it with a BANG!!! Tq~

First day at work

Yehaaa! My first day and experience working in Aussie. Service staff for the 'Kaki Lima Cafe'. Start kerje at 10.00am and finished at 2.30pm. Best! Memang best!

To Malay communities in Sydney, 'Kaki Lima' is very familiar with them especially during breakfast time. Here, lots of Malay food such as Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, Roti Telur, Murtabak, etc. are served for them to try.

Yea, that's me! Ada gaya tak?

And this is cik Fatin, my workmate of the day. Asyik2 muke die je kan? Haihh...

The dining area. More likely the kopitiam style. Small but condusive! And comfortable as well.

This photo was taken from the main entrance.

Yeah! Malay traditional 'kuih muih'. Mendapat sambutan ramai!!! Yummy Yumm Yumm...

From left clockwise : beef curry, chicken curry, chicken rendang, beef rendang, sambal tumis ikan bilis, dhal. These are basicallly the dishes that go with the Nasi Lemak - the famous order by customers.

The toppings for the Penang Laksa, Mee Rebus, Mee Kari etc.

Coffee maker - still havent learned how to use it yet. Kinda hard for the first time but I'm sure, it's gonna be easy after a few try.

Coffee Maker

So basically, my first day working at a small cafe in Sydney went very well. I really enjoy my time there and what important is, the owner and the workers there are very friendly and helpful. I didnt even feel that it was actually my first day knowing them all. Thanks so much!

chocol'art yummy!

hello again. and this time, i'm gonna share with u guys about one of the Malaysian favourite spots in Sydney, the chocol'art! just like what u could imagine based on the name, it served all food made of chocolate. located at belmore rd, randwick, it is one of the most attracted place by the locals and us as well. the continuous flow of human beings entering the shop give such a lively atmosphere when we get there. how about the taste? hmmm.. this would be a great experience especially for those with the brand 'chocolate lovers'! as for me who is not-so-in-love with chocolate, they are still fantastic especially the drink - triple chocol'art crush which is turnedto be my favourite! how about the cakes? well, my friends like it. i have no comment regarding that since i'm so allergic with cakes. it would be fine for me for the first 5 scoops and that's it! i can't take it anymore. dont get me wrong, it is not because of the taste, but it is plainly because of me myself. lidah org kampung, hehehe. anyway, here are some of the tempting look of what azri, hani and me had last night. enjoy~

sugar anyone?

hani's LARGE hot choc!

my triple chocolate crush... nak lagi!!!

apple berry crumble

petit chocolate mud fudge

Uighur Cuisine

this is another halal restaurant can be found in sydney. it served mongolian food and absolutely the best! when my first time came here, i knew that it would be one of my favourite restaurants.

located near darling harbour (one of the landmarks in sydney), it is easy to find. if we go by bus, take any bus going to circular quay and stop before the junction to elizabeth st. (intersection of liverpool st and elizabeth st.) and then, just go straight the liverpool st. until u see the flyover crossing to darling harbour. don't take the flyover but turn left. the restaurant is just around that corner. look for the signboard written "KIRORAN" on it and u are already at the right place!

talking about the food, based on my observation, their success of making such mouthwatering dishes is actually their traditional herbs used in every cooking. therefore, for those who prefer this kind of cuisine, this place will surely make the money you spend worth it!

p/s: sorry for not writing down the name of the dishes (i can't recall any of them). haha. but they are good - dont worry :p

Fishmarket anyone??

aummmm!!!

just how it sounds, this place is just another little heaven for those who craving for seafood in sydney! the food, the price and the people - they are absolutely fantastic! the place? hmmm.. it was ok i guess. with people keep searching for the right food, with the right price and not forgotten with the right color ( believe me, color is one of the variables which will determine your decision), it is obviously not those restaurants with the waiters or waitresses, where u can just sit back and they do the rest! here, u have to get the seats first which is so HARD especially when u come in a large group, then u have to clean the table if you are unlucky - most of us are in this group i guess! after that, u have to move your bump but with your eyes open, and your brain have to configure what type of food do u wanna try to serve your non-stop-singing-tummy! haha.. i'm exaggerating, i knoi!

since u have been there, how about give a try to those food which is hard to get from the normal shop. oyster, lobster, and lots more seafoods with variety of ways of cooking are available here. try them, and make them as part of your life's experience! hehe.. here are some photos for u guys to have a look. and remember, this is just another your must-go-stop besides the opera house and the harbour bridge! enjoy!!!
our food!
ikan azri. haha
oysters!! yumm yumm
my AUD6.60 baby octopus
my AUD22.00 main course

people were there : k. hani, k.shahnaz, k. hani wacha, k. tahirah, ayu, azri, and ME! i'll upload the group photo after i get it from k. shahnaz :)
